The UK are continuing to struggle to fill jobs – the travel and hospitality industry have been particularly hit as we lost so many of our European friends back to Europe or out of the industry as so many companies made COVID redundancies. May we remind people that from the 4th April 2024 the new minimum salary if you are sponsoring someone on a skilled work visa is increasing from £26,000 per annum to £38,700 per annum (health and social care sectors are exempt.) Despite lobbying by our travel trade bodies, this is unlikely to change during an elevation year. Thus the Government continues to lessen the support of European staff coming to the UK to join the industry.
