Staff shortages continue in the inbound sector

Since the return of travel post pandemic, a critical shortage of staff is being recognised by all sectors of the tourism and hospitality sector. Huge redundancies, COVID and Brexit meant we lost so much talent especially staff with language and tour operations skills. We are now seeing a new trend – many staff are complaining they are doing 2 peoples jobs and cannot continue with the stress of the job and the new operational challenges tour operators face. A lot of joy has been sucked out of the role so we urge our clients to bear this is mind and continue ongoing training with their staff, recognise the work being done with kind words and any appropriate gestures, show promotional and career opportunities and creative as positive a working environment as possible!
