A reminder about Visas, ETA’s and ETIA’s in 2024

Whilst the UK is doing well in the international markets, we must not become complacent on our continued lobbying to Government on bureaucratic costs.

Those visitors wanting to come to Europe can buy a Schengen visa allowing multi entries to many countries but this excludes the UK. Per person visa next year will be £115 so a family of 4 travelling the UK will pay £460 before any holiday costs.

From 2024 the UK government are introducing a new charge for non visa visitors which will be an online registration costing £10 per person – the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) will be valid for 2 years or until end of passport date if earlier, and will also be needed if passengers are in transit.

EU are introducing a similar scheme called an ATOA but this will be valid for 3 years, won’t be needed for in transit visitors, will be free for under 18 and over 70 year olds and cost £6.

Our trade associations continue their lobbying!
